Learn how to teach English in the Golden City! Prague, the capitol of the Czech Republic, sits on the Vitava River in Central Bohemia. For more than 1100 years, the city has served as the cultural and economical hub of the Czech Republic. Its vast center is one of the World Heritage Sites, highlighting Prague’s historical importance, but making it a popular tourist destination as well.
To truly get a feel for the history that seeps throughout Prauge, visit one of the many old sites on your time off. Overlooking the city is Prague Castle, the largest castle in the world, which lights up spectacularly at night, giving the building an almost magical glow. Of course, Andel is one of the busiest parts of the city and houses a modern shopping mall and the main center of Prague, Welceslas Square is enclosed by cinemas, shopping centers, hotels, restaurants and cafes. Between the colleges, music halls, and theaters, the atmosphere of Prague is one of urban sophistication not to be missed.
