Who Can Teach TEFL/TESOL?

Just about anyone who is a native or fluent speaker of English can become qualified to teach! If you are willing to work hard for your students and have an affinity towards helping people, then this would be a good career for you.

The courses we offer are intensive, and you will have to work hard to complete your training, but we know that many of our trainees may have not been to school in a long time, or are not fully accustomed to the ins and outs of working with a classroom. That is what our training is for: to get you ready to go into a classroom and have the skills to effectively teach English.

I already have a degree.

Great! With a TEFL/TESOL certificate you’ll be able to work in just about any non-English-speaking country in the world teaching English. There are even some countries that do not require such certification; we recommend that you do get certified to go through the best training you can get so that you can feel confidence going into classrooms and interviews.

What if I don’t have a university degree?

There are many countries that do not specifically require university degrees to teach, and with the correct certification, you will have what employers are looking for to get you hired.

I just want to work and/or volunteer for a few months.

In areas where budgets are tight, volunteers are sorely needed to fill in gaps in students’ educations. We work with various NGO’s and foundations to provide teachers with volunteer opportunities.

If you want to work for just a few months while traveling, there are many different schools needing teachers for interim periods. We may have something for you, and if you do a good job search, chances are you’ll find employer whose needs match yours. Plus, after you are finished with your interim employment, you’ll have your certification hand for the next time you’d like to do the same, and you’ll knoow you’ll always have an option to rely on if your career plans change by choice or necessity.

There are so many good things that come from starting an EFL teaching career, and so few reasons to not start now. We find it is just a little resistance to change that is all that is keeping people from experiencing this new way of life; the people that get over that hesitancy are the ones who discover for themselves all that there is to be had and never look back with any regrets.

Let’s get you started.
